More about the Worship Writers’ Publishing Group
-
We’re just getting started. WWPG’s official launch date is July 1, 2026. Our first phase is artist recruitment—finding the amazing folks that God is using to build up the Church. We plan to start hosting events, workshops, and meetups to help these folks build community and hone their craft throughout fall and winter of 2026. We’ll also be building a network of local participating churches to distribute with. Once we have some amazing resources to share, we plan to launch a resource library or songbook in early 2027.

Publishers help songwriters distribute their original music more widely. As a non-profit collaborative publisher, WWPG works alongside interested writers to identify songs that are ripe for cross-denominational sharing, create uniform charts, scores, etc., and pitches writers’ material to churches in our Southeast Michigan network.

To hang out and be pals? No way. The contract only comes into play when you have a specific song that you’d like WWPG to distribute to local churches, and we agree!
-
Nope. Our publishing contract is meant to bring the richness of your work to a broader audience without restricting your ability to use your own work freely.
-
WWPG is a non-profit, so participating writers waive their rights to profit financially from music while it’s distributed by WWPG.
-
WWPG is building a network of churches who have access to this locally-produced material. Participating churches agree to the terms of WWPG’s licensing agreement, and agree to periodically report usage statistics (we promise, it’ll be easier than CCLI reporting by a mile).

Short answer: probably. We’ve got some ideas for how we could make this work without stumbling into copyright infringement territory. Hit us up to chat. We’re nice :)
